For Vishaal and Bhavana, it’s all about creating memories together — from surprise visits to cross-country adventures. Their relationship has been shaped by travel, laughter, and meaningful moments. They love finding new restaurants around Philadelphia and turning every date night into something special. Vishaal’s rooftop proposal completely surprised Bhavana, and her timeless emerald-cut ring is full of personal meaning. Vishaal and Bhavana answered a few questions to share more about their love story:

What’s a moment in your relationship you’ll never forget?

Vishaal: When we were doing long distance, Bhavana had traveled from Philadelphia to Boston to surprise me for my birthday which fell during the work week. I had no idea that she had planned to fly out to Boston just to spend the evening with me.

Bhavana: About 6-7 months into our relationship, we decided to take a week long trip to California. We started in LA and ended in San Francisco. I will never forget the memories that we made on the trip and how it fueled my interest in traveling more with Vishaal. Since then, we have traveled abroad to Japan, Portugal, and Denmark and hope to visit other places. 

What’s your go-to date night (or cozy night in) look like these days?

We enjoy exploring new restaurants. As of lately, Philadelphia has been the scene for many unique restaurants so we have been fortunate.

Tell us the proposal story — surprise, planned, or somewhere in between?

Vishaal: I had told Bhavana that there was a cocktail hour for work. I took her to a private rooftop and completely caught her off guard. Her family and my family had known about a month prior that this was planned and did a great job at keeping it a secret. 

Did anything in particular inspire your ring choice—or did you just fall in love with it?

Bhavana: I knew that I wanted a ring that appeared classic and timeless. I have always come back to an emerald cut because of the depth and complexity of the diamond. I also knew that I wanted the band to appear minimal and so I decided to go with 3 small diamonds on each side to signify the past, present, and future.

What’s something your partner does that makes you feel especially loved?

Bhavana: Vishaal is someone that picks up on the little details. I remember when I wrapped up my orientation on the job and began working solo, he wrote me a note congratulating me and giving me the confidence boost I needed to get through some of the harder days. It's moments like these that make each day special. 

Vishaal: Bhavana is extremely thoughtful with her gifts that she has been given me. All of her gifts are very personal and have meaning and show me how much she truly loves me.
